Emma — Episode 2
I’m just going to start by saying how much I love the historical touches put into the series. In particular the scene where in the background you can see the street lamps being lit completely made my day.

Emma — Episode 1
I don’t normally write a “First Look” and an “Episode 1″ post (aside from during my Fullmetal Alchemist rewatch, have I ever written an “Episode 1″ post?) However, Emma has captured my attention in unexpected ways, and I feel a need to write about each episode. I’ve even been screencapping them, something I’ve never done before.
Emma — First Look
Finally started this charming series, and already I’m addicted.
Eureka Seven — Episode 5
I’m not sure how much longer my husband is going to last for this series. He says he wants to give it a few more episodes, but who knows. That’s a bummer, I think it has the potential for being a good show to watch together, but I can’t blame him if he doesn’t want to have to wait that long for it to really get in gear.
xxxHOLiC — Episode 16
Hmmm…I never did a first impressions post on this series. Let’s just say I like it, and love the opening theme, and move on, shall we?
Odd Failure
Ouch. After enjoying the incredibly fluffy and far-fetched Odd Thomas, I was really looking forward to reading the next book in the series, Forever Odd. I made the mistake of thinking that it would be the same. Fluffy, far-fetched, and yet still really fun and engaging to read due to the bizarre situations (that have at least a tiny bit of reality buried deep, deep within them) and the colorful townsfolk with whom Odd consorts.

Eureka Seven — Episode 4
This episode really didn’t leave much of an impression on me. It had some really cool visuals, but didn’t have much substance (although I did like that they won’t lift for money–good call.) I really enjoy the lifting scenes, which is something I wasn’t sure if I’d like. For this series, I’m really letting my Inner (boy)Child come out and have fun, letting myself sort of soak in the kid friendly atmosphere. In some ways, it reminds me a lot of Card Captor Sakura, at least just from how innocent it is thus far. Now granted, the fighting is far off from the pure fighting of CCS, but still lacks a true villain or target, so it doesn’t add any depth or darkness yet.
Thus far, it’s just a group of lift punks vandalizing the property of The Man. Which will wear thin if deeper introductions to the characters or plot don’t show up soon, but for now is fun enough. It certainly is a nice change up from Now and Then, Here and There, which I should try to finish this weekend…
Eureka Seven — Episode 3
It took awhile due to being busy, but we finally got around to watching the next episode of this series. Thus far, fun is still the word. The only word, really. It seems rather odd to be three episodes in and still have absolutely no idea what the plot is going to be, except that it involves the Type Zero mecha, and the glowy thing that Renton put into it. And probably Renton’s father at some point, I suppose.
I Read Koontz?!
So, something I never really expected to ever happen occurred this week. I started reading a book by Dean Koontz. My reasoning wasn’t uppity or anything. It’s not as if I immediate snub authors who turn out bestseller after bestseller (although I certainly do snub some of them–Danielle Steele shall never be on my shelf I would imagine.) However, I just sort of associated his names with books that would unlikely be of much interest to me.
