Maison Ikkoku–Episode 24

November 14, 2008 at 7:13 pm (Anime, Episode Discussions, Maison Ikkoku)

Not going to say much here, but I really love Kyoko when she’s bickering with her parents.  That’s not to say I don’t adore her when she isn’t arguing with them, but she’s just so fun when she’s mad.  It’s not as if she gets angry easily either.  I mean, parents pushing you to take back your maiden name while visiting the grave of your beloved?  Tacky.  I love that she gets mad rather than depressed by it.  She has such a wonderful spirit where she’s so friendly and sweet, but if you try to put something past her she’ll get you for it.

Now granted, nothing surpasses driving Kyoko, but pissed-at-parents Kyoko is pretty high on my list as well.

A random aside: Given the title of the episode included “Kozue’s First Kiss,” it’s rather odd that no actual kisses were involved…I swear, this series is so unlike all of the ones that followed it in that regard.

Now and Then, Here and There

November 11, 2008 at 4:30 pm (Anime, Now and Then, Here and There, Reviews)

So about 10 minutes into episode 9 I looked behind me and found my husband. He’d pulled his computer chair over to watch (he’d only been watching about 1/4 of the previous 3 episodes while doing other things on his computer). Yes, Eureka Seven has officially “gotten good.”

I go a month or two without watching, and now I watch 3 episodes in one day?  Such is the way things go, I suppose.

Eureka Seven — Episode 7

They’re just so mean to Renton–but at least it’s amusing when the adults do it!

Eureka Seven — Episode 6

November 6, 2008 at 3:23 pm (Anime, Episode Discussions, Eureka Seven)

So after a brief hiatus (at least by my standards), I’m finally back to watching this series.  My husband has chosen to bow out at this point, although I’ve agreed to only watch when he’s at home so if it looks good he can watch along too.  I don’t think he watched much of this episode though.
