Time for some pre-fight training.
Ippo’s debut match has been set. He’ll be fighting Oda Yusuke of Nishikawa Gym. He has a strong right straight, but it seems stamina is not his forte. He became obsessed with the one punch KO and lost focus on the rest of his game.
Oda is dating Reiko, daughter of his couch. However, both are fed up with his laziness. If he doesn’t win this match up, she’s breaking up (she heard Takamura, Kimura, and Aoki talking badly about him) with him, and her dad’s dropping him from the gym (and keeping him away from Reiko).
This lights a fire under Oda and he really works hard. He’s not going to lose everything.
The episode ends with Ippo entering the ring for the debut. I must say, the sound effects for this scene were just fantastic. The steps, the squeaks, everything was perfect and really added to the drama of the moment.
