Reflecting Lights

Originally, I was hoping this blog would be co-authored by my husband and I, hence Lights rather than Light. However, I have not had much luck with this. Occasionally you may see comments by “The Mythical Husband,” and that is as close as I could get to having a co-author.

This blog is mostly about anime, a bit about manga and tennis, a smidge about books and movies, and very rarely a bit about other stuff. It wasn’t originally intended to be quite so skewed, but that’s the way it goes. I do a lot more reading than the blog indicates–my Goodreads profile should attest to this. I also watch more anime and read more manga than the blog indicates which my MyAnimeList profile should indicate.

As for my personal life, I completed my Master’s of Library Science degree in December of 2008 and am currently a librarian at a for-profit college.

I blog because I enjoy writing. There are many times when I think about the fact that I shouldn’t be blogging but rather just writing notes, but I enjoy getting into discussions with people on topics–at least sometimes. Maybe I should spend more time on forums, but I like the control I have as a blogger. This isn’t my only blog. I have another chronicling my progress towards good health. It is even less interesting than this one (unless you find knowing what I’ve eaten and how much I’ve exercised somehow exciting), but it does include unflattering pictures of me that clearly show the progress I’ve made.

I am a member of a small batch of Internet forums. I am Mylene at Anime News Network as well as In the Rose Garden. I also still participate occasionally on alt.fan.sailor-moon as Sunnie. I first posted there in 1997, and although it’s probably been a year or more since my last posting, I do still read it from time to time. As indicated earlier, I am also a member of MyAnimeList, but I rarely participate in the forum. I also have posted a few times at AnimeOnDVD’s forum as Cerise, although not since the change of ownership occurred.

So, that should fully explain Reflecting Lights and its owner. Or maybe it doesn’t. Oh well.
