Boys Be
Well, now that I’ve finished with it, I should take a few moments to wrap up my feelings on Boys Be.

Boys Be–Episode 13
(Yikes, nearly posted this on my weightloss blog rather than Reflecting Lights. That would have been weird.)
Bless their hearts, they didn’t tie it up in a bow!! And they got Hayashibara Megumi to play a role, lovely!

Boys Be–Episode 12
You know, this is one of those episodes that would have been a great place to just stop the story. Then again, episode 13 was a video-only episode so in some ways I guess I could just go ahead and pretend this was the end. And if it were, it would be appropriately bittersweet, leaving us with Chiharu’s poignant “I’ll be waiting for you” to the nothingness left in Kyoichi’s wake.

Poor Yoshihiko. He always ends up in the weirdest situations. Good thing nothing ever stresses him out, or even makes him pay attention for that matter.
Boys Be–Episode 10
I’m not sure if it just took me awhile to get used to the characters or the storytelling style, but I’m starting to enjoy this series a bit. It’s not just fantastic or anything, but it is interesting enough that I find myself looking forward to getting to the last disc next week.

I cringed a bit when I realized this was going to be a Makoto episode (his personality and voice irritate me), but in the end it was pretty fun.

Boys Be–Episode 8
So, the drama of the previous episode is still hanging heavily in the air. Of course, I still don’t know exactly what happened, since I wasn’t paying attention, but oh well. Chiharu and Kyoichi are definitely on the outs.

Boys Be–Episode 7
Ladies and gentlemen, we have almost drama here. Granted, it’s out of place, out of character, and not really all that interesting, but there is drama!

Boys Be–Episode 5
I think this may be a first. A beach/pool episode that isn’t delightfully silly and fun.
