Well…I liked the art and the music. And when it was an action series seriously considering freedom of expression (in a slightly less than believable manner, but still…) it was a great series. Too bad those types of episodes made up only 1/3 of the series. The rest was cheesy, mediocre romantic comedy including out of place and ugly SD character designs for Iku whenever she went off the deep end. For the hundredth time.
Seriously now, bullying? Adults bullying in such an over-the-top manner that wouldn’t even look right in a show about teenagers? This was Hana Yori Dango level of over-the-top, and at least in that show you could pretend there was a reason, but this? What a lame episode.
On the other hand, the tension between Task Force and the Ibaraki Library team is very interesting. Using brute strength to require them to take on a weaponry approach gives me a chill, and I’m very much looking forward to see how badly it’s going to hurt the Task Force when they are faced with the reality that perhaps their way isn’t always the right way…Assuming that’s what happens, of course.
But still, what was up with the lame, random bullying? And of course Iku doesn’t say anything, blah blah blah…This episode was just a bit to formulaic for my taste, which is a shame because it had some interesting concepts (see above) and followed an enjoyable enough episode.
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched any of this series–and an even longer time since I actually took the time to blog about it.
Yeah, I skipped episode 2. Probably for the best, because I’ve finally got what I was wanting, or at least most of what I wanted.
Well, I finally got to see the first episode of this series. My anticipation for something great left me feeling disappointed overall.
